Metal Stud Partitions - Structural Studwork

An every increasing area of modern construction owing to its lower weight, improved thermal performance and the time saving on the critical path before a watertight envelope is achieved. This system enables rapid construction of the external skin or an entire building which can be clad later but allow internal works to progress. In the case of an external skin the system comprises of heavy gauge studs, installed between or bracketed to slabs, designed to withstand wind loading or to support floors above. The external stud face is generally clad with a cement particle or modern external plasterboard along with vapour control and breather membranes and/or an insulation layers. An external layer of insulated render, metal, Trespa or brick cladding completes the system. Structural studwork can also be used for the complete construction of the frame for buildings and as a load bearing internal wall.
